   A globe is a round map of the earth. It looks like a round ball. The globe can go around like the earth goes around. Look at the green and blue globe. Look at the land and water. The land is green, brown, and yellow. The water is blue. We can find where many places are. We learn where our country is.

   The Earth is not the only planet that has been mapped onto a globe. In the past few decades, spacecraft have made detailed maps of the surfaces of other planets and moons. Globes for some of them, such as the planet Mars and our own Moon, are available for purchase.
